How this site is set
A style sheet for the site itself.
Every manuscript I work on gets a style sheet: the rules it is set by, kept where the whole team can see them. It would be poor form for this site not to have its own.
- Libre Caslon Display for display; EB Garamond for text; the machine writes in mono. Three voices, never a fourth.
- Paper, ink and a proofreader's red pen — roughly 70% paper, 22% ink, 6% red and 2% green for what's approved. If red is doing more than punctuating, it is wrong.
- Square corners everywhere. The only shadow is a hard paper offset, never blur — this is a sheet of paper, and paper does not glow.
- PT↔EN · Chicago & New Hart's Rules — which settles the serial comma question: it stays.
